the hostess made mixed vegetable, beef curry and sweet sour fish..while I made fried chicken in soy sauce plus a dessert..kuih bakar and our professional cooker Kak Lyn made manggo salad, kuih lapis and tepung pelita...we ended the night with blowing Ady's birthday cake as he turned 15. All food licin..nak tapau pun..sket aje...

A birthday party....

Last Wednesday evening was a kick off time for Rasyad as he was invited to one of his class mate's birthday party..that was one of his good friend in school. The party started at 4.00 p.m and finished at about 6.30p.m. I guessed he had a jolly good time as he got back from the party. He kept saying about it non stop, even as we passed through Mc'D....he'll keep on saying that he went to Qaim's party at McDonald....hmm..luckily he didn't asked one for himself a birthday

Kak Rohaya's trip back to M'sia

Last Sunday, the night after we had coffee morning..we sent Kak Rohaya and the lots except for Haji and Aina back to Malaysia..at the airport onlylah..due to family matters. While we were there, all of us the "Muscat snorkeler", get to know that we 're not able to go to the island for our snorkeling adventure as the tour operator said the water is gonna be choppy..so it wouldn't be enjoyable...and as for Kak Rohaya and the family....there will be not joining us for the shopping trip to Dubai...anyway, I hope they have a safe journey back home and Insya Allah everything will go well back in Miri.

Coffee Morning....

Today was another session of food fest. It was held at Kak Rohaya's place. The food were all good until I did asked some to take back. "Kes malas masaklah". We knew that Kak Rohaya would probably made delicious dessert, so me and Kak Lyn brought something more authenthic. Kak Lyn brought Talam Sekaya, I brought Kuih Sagu and Kak Zaleha brought bread pudding. The main course was Laksa Sarawak...terangkat..sedap..I did add a few times..At the end we were all so lazy to get up, felt sleepy and could hardly walk..So we sat there until at about 11.30 a.m. before we all make a move to go back to our own destination..

Oh, this was also the first time I got to meet Qayyum..as the last time was Eid celebration last year but none of us utter a word. So, as a whole I can say just like Kak Lyn said....a handsome young chap with a very good manners..Untung Kak Rohaya..I like him....hey no bad thoughts..as a son lah..come on..where am I going to put my 'Brad Pitt'...hehehe.

A fun day for mothers'

Yesterday was another day in our snorkeling session..but this time around it was just the adults..How lovely it was..no screamng..no shouting. We were able to swim freely. However, as we were in the water, the view was not clear so we could not really enjoyed the moment..plus there were lots of dead fish. the best part was..we got to see turtles ..from the shore as we were about to get back...during that hour..the water had already been crystal clear..ehemm..it's just not our luck....maybe next time..It's okay..,Damaniyat Island...here we come.....only if nobody trust the rumors on upcoming cyclone.

During lunch hour, I made sambal tempoyak, masak lemak ikan with pucuk ubi, sambal belacan and ulam jantung pisang. Well, only the bachelors got to ate the lunch since all the rest needs to get back home.

It's that time again....

Last Thursday was another regular day for anyone but to us in Muscat..we've been looking forward for the day..It's snorkeling time....and it still fun..this time around got to swim further more since I ws able to snorkel with my hubby..so that's why I'm more confident..my knight in shining armour is next to me..hehehe...Everybody has bought a full gear of snorkeling set..but unfortunately for me,my snorkel is not ready since I brought it to the optic centre to put a lense on it....Better vision ok....

As acustomed..at night definitely would follow another round of gathering since all the mothers...got so tired and lazy to cook...this time around it's Haji's turn with Miska..It's like satay...meat on bamboo skewers but...we did have squid and beef meat only....It was something for a change...emmm..next week will be another week...may the force be with us....

Mother's Day at The Chedi

Yesterday was a Mother's Day celebration here in Muscat. Therefore, my darling hubby took me to The Chedi Hotel in Muscat..one of the finest five stars hotel. The ambience was nice but too dim for me who like lights all around..but the deco was so Moroccan..and I like that a lot..The food is excellent but I could not have a taste on the Modern Asian section as they served pork...

I was worried sick..whether I could eat at that place or not..but I have a full confidence since each cuisine was made from different kitchenette. Our food were the Indian and The Middle East cuisine. I ordered the Tandoori Quail as the starter and for my hubby he chosed the Lamb Kofta. The main course..It would be Lamb Shank with mint sauce and a Buttered Naan..it was superb and for him Chicken Tikka and Safron Rice...everything went nice until we looked up time..it was half to midnight..better get moving..the kids....still being mother...on mother's day....ironic isn't it?...

A treat to us all

Last weekend, after the fun activity... we had our dinner at Silk Route Restaurant which was sponsored by Sayed, one of the new "married bachelor' here in Muscat. It was a delicious dinner.. I never had my dinner there and now I know a new spot for eating out.

Later today, We had another dinner at our favourite Kabuli rice restaurant,Bin Ateeq. It's just that it has been a while since we last ate a Kabuli rice with the fried meat...Nice one I must say...so..everybody is still having the snorkeling fever...and definitely the topics were about snorkeling and our next trip to the Damaniyat Island. I guess these activity will sure be our routine in the weekend diary.

Snorkeling time!!!

Today as the week wind down we end it with the family activity...It's the same families..hehehe...but we did have fun...as for me the first timer in snorkeling I would say that it is a great experience..thanks Hj. for the idea....

I had been dreaming to snorkel all this while but I don't have the guts to see the school of fish swimming side by side with me..but alast..I did it..It wasn't that scary..but it did hit my head once in a while what if..when I look up the horizon..There's a shark in front of me...Crap me...Sometimes my imagination run wild.

So we set up a tent..and we brought the left over food from yesterday..it's still edible...and to the sea....I hope we can make it as weekly activity as I already get the hang of it..It was FUN!!!

Another gathering

Yesterday we had Yaasin and tahlil at Kak Lyn's/Hamzah's place. Everyone's there...as per predicted...the food was marveleous..Kak Lyn made Nasi Tomato plus all the side dishes along and as for us...We brought the desserts...It was nice....Insya Allah..I hope our 'little community' may stay as it is now...as a family all of us I can say...next...It would be K Leha's house...It must be specialty from Sarawak....Yum..Yum... Can't wait..

BEWARE Everyone!!

I bought this pair of shoe during a sale at "everyone knows" place a few months back. By being the careless me..not checking thoroughly in and outside of the shoe....I bought it happily...but...I hardly put them on..since it bit my foot everytime I had it on me...

Last month when I went to buy groceries I wore the shoe and it still hurts...Once I got to my car and took it off and then I realized and panic struck me...Is it true...?!! After all this while..I've been putting on a pig's skin on my feet...Ya Allah forgive me for my negligence....

So now...everytime I went out..to look on something....I will be more watchful....I thought being in the middle east countries....this stuff will not come across us..but as I said...I was wrong..To all my friends.. just be careful....Don't end up like me...kena semayang taubat...kena mandi lumpur...hehehe....

First we went Nizwa souq in the morning and take a peek on what would be inline for us all...Then went to Jabal...which means mountain in arabic..and akhdar would mean big. So, Jabal Akhdar means big mountain.

Everybody, Hj Zunaidi and family,Hamzah n the lots, Rohimi n the bunch, Sazali and the crew, Razak and the group plus the bachelors....Food supplies, I would say Alhamdulillah could accomodate everyone around....and it was just nice until lunch

First gathering

Welcome to my blog readers....All comments are very much appreciated.....This post would be about the first makan2 occasion at my place since we've got back from Malaysia. It's been a while since I last updated my post...This was because Oman Telecommunication was upgrading their ADSL services nation wide and that 's why every thing went haywired before.

Back to the topic...we made a gathering last Thursday on the 24/04/08....It was a western theme...so everybody bought a western delicacies...mashed potatoes, lasagna.spaghetti and as a norm Barbican from Nazri....

It was a full table..and there was a new family from Miri, Sarawak.. A friend of Hj Zunaidi. The husband name is Sazali and the wife is Zaleha...Sazali is currently working at Weatherford. I hope the family enjoy their stays here in Muscat.
