My first week

Salam to all....It has been 3 days since we arrived safely at KLIA...and yesterday was a hectic day for me. I did enrolled my eldest child to a smart reader class since we will be here in KL for a period of time, might as well I send him off somewhere where he can learn and meeting new friends rather than just being at home and playing with his playstation.

Later in the afternoon, after picking him up from school, the 3 of us, me, my son and my daughter went to Ampang Park to meet my sister and had our lunch there. We went to Ampang Park by LRT. Since it's Friday and the traffic will be something plus the rain...The laksa asam has always being my favourite and it still the marvellous taste I've ever had...Then we took a cab to KLCC...owh, before that we dropped my sister at her office in Jln. Yap Kwan Seng...There, we start to scout and have a look on everything that are on sale and again being me...I grabbed a parfume and my beauty product...Than we stoped over at Guess Kids, I went into Tods and terjebak with one key holder. Then jet off to Levis...I tell you, the sales like crazy....so after a while there I decided to go back and the kids were tired also.

On the way back, I thought of just taking a cab straight back home. However, unfortunately for us, we were not allowed to take the cab in front of the mall itself, so we have to walked to Jalan Ampang to hail for a cab. I thought that it would be easier for us to take a cab from across the street rather than waiting on the other side of the road which take me longer back home.

Suddenly a bus came and Rasyad said he wanted to ride on the bus...so without any hesitation...we jumped on the bus and off we go.....So it was a long journey for both of my kids and they get to experience all the public transportation..which I think it's good as they never had a ride in a bus before. So there goes my day...LRT, cab and bus in a day...When we got home everybody was flat including me but we really had a great time.

Care for dates anyone?

Today,Insya Allah I'll be flying back to my dear home town..Kay Ell here I come...so my hubby had asked some workers from the PDO...to pluck the dates out of the trees. We've got few...These are for my parents, my aunt and my uncle as they want to save it for for Ramadhan....The dates I could tell you ...It is really nice and sweet if it's ready but it has a different kind of taste once you plucked it and keep it with the one that is already mature on the tree by itself....Nothing much to say....Only that, see u guys there!!!

My day

I didn't do much nowadays...only started packing my stuff bit by bit..and last Friday me and the rest went to Seeb Souq to look for some Jubah for my mum since it will be Eid soon...got back from Seeb at about quarter to midnight... It's a tiring day for the kids but they really enjoyed it since my daughter keep nagging the father that she wanted to go shopping and she was always dressed up and just waitng for us to make a move....I guessed they were just bored sitting alone at home, no school, no friends... just looking at me 24 hours a day and yelled at them when they make a mess...not a yell that in pains.. just a normal mom would shout when the house is tunggang terbalik....

The next day, we went to a shop near Ghubra Roundabout to bought halwa for my parents. This shop was recommended by Kak Lyn as she bought for herself there also...and the shopowner remembered her as my hubby was about to pay and he said that last week also there was one Malaysian bought the same kind of halwa from his shop....FYI, halwa was a sweets made by the Omanis in conjunction to celebrate any occasion...they seldom give gifts...i.e: if there's a newcomer in the family they bought a bowl of halwa and put it in the office just to let everyone know that they are celebrating something. Halwa is just like our dodol only sweeter...

Kak Lyn's trip Back to Kay Ell

On the 7th, we sent Kak Lyn and family back to Malaysia..and now I started to count my days before me myself heading back....alahai..rasa macam another century..Before we set for airport, Kak Lyn gave us a treat at Bin Ateeq for a dinner. It was a perfect timing but my kids did not like it except for they get to meet up with Haikal since I've promised them that we would be going for a pizza at Papa's John for dinner at the airport itself...It was a safe journey for them..Alhamdulillah...

So, when me and Rasyad read Kak Intan's blog about their meet up...Rasyad had started to cry as he misses Hakeem and Zaid already and he started to asking me all sorts of questions on why we were not on the pictures, why are we going back to Malaysia the latest....I just could not answer his question..makes me sad....

Shopping time

It was on the 5th of July I decided to go for a little shopping with my dear Kak Lyn and her kids....since I've got to buy some scarfs for Kak Intan since she had already pesan to me long time before...So, after I picked everyone up, we had our breakfast at Sultan Centre-Jean's Grill....who ever had been there, the buffet still remain the same...but the laughs we had plus some funny jokes these kids were making, made the day....

Later we head off to Al-Harty Complex to scout for the scarfs..we've been looking for the shop that Kak Intan told me before which only sells scarfs and not any abaya or jubah...we went the upper floor and walla....we did quite a few purchases..which all the good and lovely colours had sold out...Before heading back home...I stopped by Patchi to buy some chocolates for my dad who loves chocolates....anyhow the chocolates were all finish...my kids and my hubby hentam everything....So I guessed I have to come back again and buy for my dad.

Time to relax

4th of July, was another snorkeling session for us...but it went quite short for me as the sea was quite choppy...earlier Kak Lyn was asking me how much I should pay her for something that is valueable to me and I still couldn't think of any until she showed me my dear camera....Aha...now I know where it went..No wonder I've been searching up and down the house but I cannot find it...

I said to her why did she gave to me earlier as I was about to persuade my hubby to buy the latest model for me. It's only a joke..and I know my hubby very well....He wouldn't buy something unless for sure that camera was lost..because he said to me earlier that he saw me taking pictures went we sent Salman off...hmmm...I 've already guessed the answer in a way of saying no...Therefore, the snorkeling session for all of us finish at around 10.30 but we did had a good breakfast with fried noodle, fried rice with sambal sotong and nasi himpit with kuah kacang....

Rasyad's last day of school

July the 2nd also was the last day of school for Rasyad...So he may go to school dressing up as he wish but the teacher had told the parents earlier that they wanted to make a pyjamas party. So on this particular day rasyad had insisted on weaing his Power Rangers pyjamas that wears always..right after washing them..I could say that it is his fav pj...

The best part was, even the teachers were in their pjs...You would never see if the kids are schooling back in Malaysia with a rigid curriculum..Here they had more fun while learning and I think kids are better off these way as less pressure are instil on them...Thank to one of the parent who took photo of Rasyad..Thanks Sadia....

Dinner one more time

On the 2nd of July, my other half proposed to have a game of tennis and a dinner by the usual family,Kak Lyn's family who else...minus Salman who already left. However it turn out to be a pot luck dinner as he invited the whole crowd...Saloma and family, Kak Leha and family, Shukor and Kak Faridah plus the bachelors....Owh we also had a new bachelors. Both of them are also working at the Oman Air and one of the man is the Head Chief for catering at the Oman Air.

So the agenda has changed from only have a game of tennis, there was table tennis also....so those who don't really enjoy running and sweat themselves, may indulge in the game that was easily to play... but they sweat also.

We, the ladies started out the dinner first as we got nothing to play on..only chatting and chatting all night..which I found it rather fun. The dinner was a full strech of Malay cuisine. We had asam pedas ikan, daging dendeng, pecal, ayam masak kicap, sotong masak lemak cili api, sayur chap chye, meehoon goreng and kuah satay. As for the dessert, we had sandwich starwberry cake, bubur kacang hijau, jelly and omani sweetts...So you do the thinking....how did it go that night..and later we did more chatting about shopping in Muscat, the exchange rate, foods we missed back in KL and lots more which I barely remembered....

I can't post any pics around this time as I lost my camera which later..I'll tell you in my next post what had happened to it....but what I can say is that I just love the crowd that we are having...so much fun..no gossipping..i.e. ngumpat sapa2....it's just us and our family and the world that revolves around us...isn't that fun....

The Departure

On the 29th of June was the date for Salman and Laila remembered. This was the date that they departure from Muscat forever. I don't know will they ever coming back here again or not as Laila had finished her school and so as Salman...He also had finished his study and about to continue it in the Great Britain...So, it was quite a sad moment, eventhough we knew each other for not long..but we have seen them almost everyday and I've treated them as part of my family..like my brother and sister....Plus we lost another Malaysian yet again...

Anyhow, it was always a pleasure to see them again and I wish them from the bottom of my heart that they will succeed in everything that they are doing. The crowd at Costa Seeb Airport was always a cheer...with Raja tagging along and Kak Leha with her family...plus the new man, Shukor that I told before is working for Oman Air.

The best part was while checking in, Salman baggages was overweight..let alone his golf bag has been excess by 7 kilos. The check in counter guy told us that it would be 10.3 R.O/kilo....and I said that these kids's leaving Muscat for good ..have mercy on them....so I called my hubby to the check in counter....he came to the rescue..but not for long...the counter guy still insisted Salman on paying the excess baggage....then my darling made a call. Shukor came wearing his Oman Air tag along with him...and poof......suddenly Salman did not have to paid a single penny. Aha..I said it must be the "Tangkal Azimat".. his been wearing. So,settled the case..had a few minutes of chatting before the kids boarded....Isn't that funny..Just swaying the tag...everything was settled..I wish I could hold one myself....

Salman's farewell dinner..

I got lots of catching up to do .....When I've read Kak Lyn's blog..wooo..she was way over me...so I guessed I better updating mine. Well, everything has gone very slow since Kak Lyn has gone back to Kay Ell and meet the lots..hmmm jealousnye...lupa oja terus....

Here I'll be updating about what did happened in my world for the past weeks...from where yek...? Owh, It was Salman's farewell dinner....After few discussions being made with Kak Lyn about where to eat..we decided to have it at Kobe Sizzlers Restaurant. That place was near to my house area...we've been there a few times...the food I can say okay2...with the no variety in Muscat nie kan....kire quite impressive lah...sedihnye...they made a steak on a hot plate.....

We've met new Malaysian..Kak Faridah and his husband Shukor..who is working for Oman Air currently...Nice lady..love to talk to her...really had a good time...Later that night we celebrated again Salman's birthday..only this time it was in a proper manner with the courtesy of the shop..they even switched on the birthday song..hehehe.....We had to went back early as Kak Lyn's got to fetch her kids from the prom that night which I heard it was a joy for both of them..

Last day at Dubai

Final day for all of us who wants to pulun on shopping...ahaks...so we went to the Mall of Emirates as we have been anticipated since the first day we arrived Dubai ....It was all because, if we went to the mall as our last stop, it would be easier for the drivers to get their exit back to Muscat. We had our lunch at ChopChop. It was a thai, chinese restaurant with the view of Ski Dubai...We celebrated Salman's birthday there which was actually due on the day we set for Dubai..

The mall however did not had a great sale as all of us wanted it to be..and everybody menyesal tak pukul habis at DCC. Even my hubby was so frustrated about the golf set..later he said he wants to go back to DCC to purchase one..Ha..how's that sound...tiring kan?..but never mind..shopping punye pasal..I agreed to his idea...as for me I had a great time as I got the handbag that I've been nagging for quite sometime...thanks to my hubby...he actually had the hard time on purchasing it for me but I started to make a face..so he decided to go for it..and my handbag could only be purchased at Harvey Nichols as that was the only place that item could be purchased..... Tick tock, the time doesn't permit us to go back to DCC so my hubby said that he'll be buying the set on the next time we set our foot to Dubai....time sale aje lah...

So we get out of the mall at around 4.30 in the evening....and we reached Muscat at around midnight..Hungry ...we made a stop at KFC Seeb as we could not find any along the way, then we sent Salman and Laila back to their joint. We reached home almost 1.00 in the morn. The unpacking of the shopping we had done took me almost a week to finish...Sooo tiring...but sooo happy...mission accomplished.

2nd day at Dubai

We woke up quite late in the morning since everybody were so exhausted a day before....Got SMS from Kak Lyn said that she was already at DCC..so..again we head off to Deira City Centre.. for another round of shopping...this time around was to scout for the kids raya clothing...and it's worth it..since GAP was having a 75% sale. UCB also was having a sale...however ZARA was not on sale yet..but I still managed to bought a pair of clothing for myself....Met with the rest of the gang at the food court for lunch.

Then there was the shoe city...There we brought each and everyone of us a new pair of shoe as my hubby was lookingf or his tennis shoe..and he found one..which looks awesome when his wearing it thanks to me who choosed for him..ehem...later my hubby scout for his golf set but then he said he wants to look for it at the Mall of Emirates....

Later in the evening we went to IKEA..and did some shopping as IKEA was also having a part sale...If I could be given a chance..the whole IKEA I felt like borong...hehehe..then thought of going to Naif Souq..but we had a miscommunication with Salman and Laila as they were wandered off to the other part of the mall which I still did not get the opportunity to go...so we settled to go to the Burdubai Souq..and Salman did his shopping for his relatives in Ireland and back in Malaysia for an abaya and scarfs..When we reached the souq, it was already near to 10.00...did the quick shopping and we had our dinner at the creek....it was nice actually but every body was tired and it's hot and humid..so it was a silent dinner...even the waiter of the restaurant made jokes..we can't even catch what was he trying to say.....Get to the hotel at around 12.00 the kids were all gone flat, no battery....Good for me, as I did not have the difficulty to put them to sleep.

Trip to Dubai

After kept on yakking my husband that Dubai is having summer sale....he agreed to go...so we went to Dubai on the 25th of June around 7.30 in the morning...the actual planned was to depart from Muscat as early as it can be, maybe around 5.00. Unfortunately..my darling juz could not open his eyes after the Subuh....I suggested that I was the one should be driving..so he let me drive up to Sohar..we reached there at about 9.00 and had our breakfast there..Actually the real reason for going to Dubai was not only shopping but to bring Salman as he never been there before. How ever, he could not joined us the last minute and exchange with Nadia and Laila..in our car. He'll be joining us tomorrow with Kak Lyn and family.

We get to Dubai at around 11.00,after the check point and a few misturned to the carpark...we settled to go to Deira City Centre first before checking in at the hotel. It was a blast..sale here and there..I just couldn't resist entering a shop after one to another..so we get back to the hotel at about 7.00 at night exhausted but I was feeling a bit of wee as I get to do some shopping myself....so it was true..shopping is the best therapy for woman...hehehe...

Owh..The hotel we slept was next to The Mall Of Emirates..so I guessed I'll be doing more shopping later....and the room was nice..It includes breakfast...

Rasyad's early Birthday Party

On the 23rd of June..I made a birthday party for Rasyad at his class..he was so thrilled to know that he'll be having his party and celebrated it with his good friends around. This time, it still a spiderman cake...Anyway, I had to make it early as his real birthday falls in August which is a school holiday plus when he enters school by September, it will be Ramadhan..so I didn't get to taste the cake in the middle of the day..hehehe..admit guilty...He was so happy that when he came back from school, his IP1 teacher, Miss O'Rourke, gave him a birthday certificate..that breaks the day...he's been smiling the whole day....

It's been a while..

Last month on the 21st of June my daughter..she called herself Cinderella...had her farewell party at the nursery-Bright Beginnings. She wanted a cake..so I ordered a Power Puff Girl Vanilla sponge cake..she was so excited as she thought it was her birthday. When ever there was cake, it must be a birthday...It goes the same with Kak Lyn's son-Haikal..was also had his farewell party..as he will be going to reception in BSM by this September..so I picked Kak Lyn and the lots from her place to the nursery but the party had already started..kids...once they saw the cake..it was party all over again...They really enjoyed....
