Eid Al Adha

In Muscat, Eid Al Adha was celebrated a day later from the rest of the world. That would be on the 9th of December. A night before, we went to Hj. Zunaidi's place for the takbir raya. At the same time we celebrated three couples wedding anniversaries. It ended at the wee of the night at about 11 p.m. and the gathering was continued at my place the morning of eid itself.

As the menu, it was definitely a raya menu with sambal sotong, rendang ayam, masak lodeh, kuah satay, nasi himpit and the satay itself. It w
as joyous raya as I missed one before for the Eid ul Fitr. I found it very pleasing as I have everyone just like my own family gather round and having a good raya time. Plus I have my parents around. Later thst day we planned our trip for Sur.

Sur trip with the lots

On the 2nd of Eid Al Adha which it was 10th of December...and also my dad 74th birthday....and we decided to have a trip with the rest of the crew to Sur. At first, the plan was to met up at Sultan Centre parking area but due to unforeseen circumstances our family were delayed. So, we let the rest to go first and we'll be tailing them from behind which we were late for about half an hour.

Later we supposed to met up at the Bima Sink Hole which was situated at the Quriyat area but unfortunately for us, we did not have any GPS or map to guide us to the place, then we missed the spot where everybody were waiting for us to have their breakfast. Again, we let them to go first. We finally decided just to join them in Sur. Once we reached Sur, everybody was starving...It was all because of us..hehehe...sorry yeah .....

Later, we checked in to the hotel and by half an hour we went to the nearest beach for the photo session. Thought of going to the turtle beach but it was nearly Maghrib prayer so we then decided to go on the next day on the way back to Muscat. The boys had a real good time of beach soccer. Night time was the barbecue. Though it was a cold and chill plus windy night, however, we did had a splendid time chatting and sharing opinion and changing ideas.

The next day after breakfast, after checked out of the hotel, we went straight to the turtle beach. Lazing there for about an hour with another photo session and then we went for lunch at one of the beriani shop in Sur. Later I requested my hubby to go to the Bima Sink Hole as I didn't get to see it on the way to Sur. So we dropped by the area which by that time it was again nearly time for the Maghrib prayer. However, I was glad and satisfied because I got to go those places before I headed for the hospital...

SinterKlass in school

On the 2nd of December,PDO School had made a date with the sinterklass to come and give out paper note(gingerbiscuits) to the children as Christmas will be celebrated in December and they had to make it early as during Christmas is a school holiday. So the kids were supposed to gather at the parking compound and waited for the sinterklass aka santa clause for the dutch. This was the Dutch traditional ways to celebrate Christmas.

Farewell dinner

Earlier this month also we had a farewell dinner to bid good bye to 2 bachelors who had been staying in Muscat for quite sometime and also a family who had been here for a year already.....they were Nazri and Mior and also Kak Roza and the kids....We started off with a maghrib prayer and later a speech from the ambasador who were able to come that night-Datuk Zamri, and the makan2 session...as usual..the end part was with the karaoke.

Rasyad's swimming gala

On the 4th of this month, Rasyad aka ABANG went for his four-day swimming gala....except for he was allowed to be accompanied by a parent. So he swam for 1000m through and back with his father. On the last day, he managed to received a medal for his achievemnet...way to go abang..!

Get 2-Gather

13th of November, we had a get together at my place. It was nothing. The real plan actually for the adults to go for snorkeling and then having their dinner at my house. Plus, there were session of ping pong and ehem.....the ever awaited karaoke competition....Since snorkeling was cancelled due to the low tide in the afternoon, so everybody went straight for dinner and do what ever you like.

I was the one who insisted on making the day since I wanted to learn to cook mee rebus. Kak Faridah, Hj. Shukor's wife helped me out. The only one couldn't turn up was Kak Rohaya since Aida had her swimmiing tournament that day but she still have the time to cook the chicken rice for the kids. Kak Lyn with shepard's pie and dessert while Kak Leha brought over donuts.

National Day

On the 8th of November, the Malaysian Embassy decided to made a national day celebration despite of being late for 3 months...but it's good also...if they had made it earlier I surely didn't get the chance to go.

It started at 7.30 pm and to my surprise it was done at Diplomatic Club which is much, much bigger compared to the one I've been before. Another thing was that The Ambassador had invited quite a lot of degenerates and High ranking people compared to previous year. Food was always been good as there were Satay, local kuih again, Laksa Sarawak and many more. The crowd that turned up for the occasion also was not disappointing. Next time if I get the chance to be invited again, I'll surely go...

International Market Place

7th November, Petroleum Development Oman,PDO, made a market place for its workers from all over the world to sell their specialties either food or handicraft and about just anything to promote one's country.

It goes the same for Malaysia. This time around it was organized by one fellow Sarawakian Malaysian, Frida Jilan. So they set up a stall to sell local delicacies. As I expected my three sisters participated also in the event. As for Frida, she sold Laksa Sarawak. Kak Rohaya, Kak Lynn and Kak Leha was selling chicken rice and curry puff which was a hot stuff that day....Lucky them...A talented business woman all must have been. There were also Nasi Lemak, Fried Kueh Tiaw,Fried Vermicelli and local kuih plus chicken pau.

As usual, the kids were the one who had the fun time....as for the mothers ..complaining tired in a smile....So by the end, there were performance made successful by the Malaysian PDO's children with Joget Pahang and Sarawak cultural dance. It was fun for me too because I don't have to cook that day ..yeah!!

My tiny achievemnet

On Sunday,2nd of November, Aleesha's teacher requested for me to have a party for her at class. After a while, I was cracking my head on what to serve...It just popped out of my head to make cupcakes which I never done before and also jelly as for what I knew the teacher will let the children to eat by themselves. so I guessed cupcakes and jelly won't mess the class that much...

There on, my project begun.. and it was an achievement for me as I never done it before. So a pat on the back for me then.

My princess turns three

On the 31st October, my girl, Aleesha turned three. It was a joyous day of her life as she got to be a princess just like last time.

So the food was as always, simple and edible as you know me.....I'm not good in cooking..still in the learning process. We had spaghetti, nuggets, pizza and fries. The dessert was the birthday cake itself and truffles made by Kak Lyn.

After the stomach filling session, there was the cut cutting session and hitting the pinata. The party started at about 3.30 in the evening and it ended at about 11 at night. Since anything that related to the birthday party ended early so the kids all decided to take part with the trick or treating session as that day also coincidentally was a Halloween Day. So whom ever arrived that day, they were all dressed up. Some being a witch, clown, a Dracula, a cat and also we did had a special appearance of Julius Caesar. Rasyad turned out to be a pirate. Everybody got lots of candies which at the end they don't even consumed it. They just wanna have fun.

As for the parents...The sing all your heart out session continues..which some were disappointed as they cannot get a high score.... It's OK...trust me..there will be next time.

Salam everyone...

Salam to everyone....It's been a while...no it has been long since my last post....I got back from K.L a month now..and yes today I have the time to do some repairing on my posts, my facebook and updating my blogs...

Here are some bits and pieces from my journey back in Muscat. I missed everyone here and definitely my sis, Kak Intan back in Shah Alam....sorry yea I did not get the chance to say goodbye to her...anw, the weekend I arrived Muscat, Kak Leha made a barbeque dinner at her place and continued with the never ever boring session of karaoke...The other week for what I remembered was the session of helping Kak Rohaya and her beloved family to the new home sweet home in Al-Ansab. It's a new housing area for me who hardly been in that area....The house I might say that it is a very spacious. Suitable for her family with two anak daras. Murah rezeki Kak Rohaya.

Then the following weekend where my princess turns three plus all the kids were enjoying themselves with the tric or treating session for Halloween at my house area since these area has ever been the hot spots for parents to drop-off their kids for the Halloween....All that will be in my next post....Alhamdulillah everything went fine...It seems merrier here since Syed's family and Haji Shukor family are here. Sorry Kak
Rohaya for not being much of a help during the pindah randah.

Hari Raya-Eid Mubarak

1st October.....tarikh keramat.....All muslims celebrated Aidilfitri. It goes the same for us here in Malaysia..after reading all my sisters' blogs who stayed for raya in Muscat, I started to miss the environment and especially them...with their kids.... hope to see them very soon...As usual after solat aidilfitri was the feeling-feeling session with my parents... Then, comes the duit raya. Our theme this year was red..At first, thought of doing it with purple, however,I could not find any for Nafiis so we changed to red...lucky for me as tempah two sets of baju kurung...One is purple and one is red. So no much hassle for me...

After ziarah kubur, we went straight to my aunty's place in Selayang and then my uncle's place in Kampung Bahru.....Once we got back from visiting the relatives...my mother's place was afull house until late at night... I felt so tired entertaining all of them but there were pleasure behind it....
